OSHA: What is it? And what Training do I need?

OSHA is the Occupational Safety & Health Administration, which oversees the compliance and enforcement of the Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSH Act). The OSH Act guarantees that employers provide a safe and healthful workplace by establishing and enforcing standards through OSHA. The OSH Act and OSHA have been put in place to expand employee and employer knowledge on identification, evasion, and avoidance of safety and health hazards in their workplaces. Employers must abide by all applicable OSHA standards, along with the General Duty Clause of the OSH Act, which necessitates employers to maintain a workplace exempt of significant known hazards. http://www.osha.gov/
